Description
It's not unusual for a hippo's nose, ears and eyes (all placed near the top of it's head) to protrude from the surface of a pond or river while the rest of the hippopotamus rests beneath the surface. At 5000 - 8000lbs, you'd probably want to lounge around floating in a warm pool all day too!
Hippopotamus amphibious is an extremely dangerous animal who is native to the opposite side of the planet from where I live so I must be content to visit them in a zoological park.

Voted, it's not every day you see a hippo reflection. Submit your photo to the UNLIMITED FOG AND REFLECTIONS group. I'd love to feature it.
