Artist's Description
This is a face that could stir the imagination of a science fiction writer. Dragonflies look so alien. But the Blue-eyed Darner is an abundant creature of this planet. Its range extends throughout North America. (It's possible she's a California Darner but I'm told those stripes in front of her legs suggest otherwise.)
This beautiful female paused on my California garden lavender plants wishing the sun would warm her wings. She's more than welcome to gobble up mosquitoes, flies, moths and termites.
